Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. visits the PRESIDENTS HALL OF FAME!

(Founder of WAXIPEDIA and host of YouTube's "This Is Me OTHY" TIMOTHY W. RANDALL with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and Abraham Lincoln at Clermont, Florida's PRESIDENTS HALL OF FAME.)

Throughout the months of January and February 2019 WAXIPEDIA presented it's vintage wax figure of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (a vital part of the WAXIPEDIA ARCHIVE) in celebration his namesake holiday and Black History Month at the wonderful Presidents Hall of Fame in beautiful Clermont, Florida.

But before he took up residency in the lobby (with robot Abraham Lincoln) he checked out some of the other exhibits in this great little museum!
WAXIPEDIA strives to share the history and uniqueness of wax arts in hopes that they inspire future generations to appreciate this amazingly underappreciated craft.

This particular piece of art was created by acclaimed sculptress Katherine Stubergh, who many called "The American Madame Tussaud." She became a celebrity, in her own right, during the pinnacle of Hollywood's Golden Age making friends with the likes of Mae West, Charlie Chaplin, Walt Disney and Albert Einstein (among many others!)

Today, despite making thousands of pieces during her career, many of her most beautiful works have been lost or destroyed. Some are found in private collections around the country, and the world, but the largest single collection - being open and viewable to the public - is the National Presidential Wax Museum in Keystone, South Dakota (unrelated).

Madame Tussauds Orlando

With the Orlando, Florida branch of the famous Wax Attraction opening in just a little more than two weeks I decided to swing by the construction site and check out the exterior (I had the great fortune of visiting on February 23, 2014 and toured the interior already).

Like many of the Madame Tussauds from around the world, Orlando features the chains iconic advertisement 'Celebrity Wrap' showing guests interacting with their favorite stars. Though not fully finished (as of this morning) the images reveal several of the fabulous figures to be shown within.
