Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln

One of the single greatest personalities from all of history has to be America's sixteenth President, Abraham Lincoln. From his humble beginnings to his role in re-unification of the United States after a long and bloody civil war, Lincoln holds a special place within the hearts of practically all his countrymen and has been honored with a place within many of the worlds wax museums.

In honor of his 206th Birthday, and in dedication of all that he represented and stood for, I share these pictures from 'Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln'. Though not a traditional display of wax this legendary show contains one of the most well loved figures of this American legend ever created. Originally sculpted by Disney artist Blaine Gibson , 'Great Moments' opened within the Illinois pavilion at the 1964-1965 New York World's Fair and was later moved to the Opera House at Disneyland.

( These images come from several different sources from the private collection of TIMOTHY RANDALL and are apart of the ever growing 'WAXIPEDIA ARCHIVES'.
Dedicated to preserving the history of Wax Arts, and the unique stories of all those involved in it's development, WAXIPEDIA strives to become the ultimate source of information on the subject of wax museums.  Anyone interested in donating items for preservation are invited to contact me at timothywrandall@gmail.com. Donated items will be cataloged, digitally scanned, photographed, and restored.  All donated items will be credited to their specific donors and will be preserved and made available to future generations of artists, designers, historians and fans).
